Traditionally playing host to many of Fifteen’s local suppliers, the Fifteen Farmers’ Market really marks the start of the foodie season. Find Deli Farm Charcuterie, Rodda & sons, Da Bara Bread, Brian Etherington & son and Primrose Herd amongst others all proffering their wares (with samples to whet your appetite).
Often a place to test new creations, drawing a fab crowd of gluttons for the delicious demos. 2014’s First Great Western Chef’s Kitchen is hosted by the lovely Daphne Skinnard and features Tom Hunter from the Scarlet Hotel, Emily Scott at the Harbour Kitchen, Sanjay Kumar from the Cornish School of Sardines and Paul Ainsworth from Number 6. Fifteen’s Head Training & Development Chef, Karl Jones and Head Sommelier Gordon Lawrence will also be demoing.
Also, keep a geek out for the Cornwall Food Foundation stand where Food from Cornwall will be taking children and families through the story of wheat, grinding, pounding and getting stuck in with salt dough. Matthew Thomson, Foundation CEO, will be out in the crowd engaging guests including Sanjay Kumar and Rob Hocking from Buttervilla in discussions about food and what it means to them, in their work, lives and homes. Step into spring on Saturday!
