Organised by the du Maurier Festival Society, the shindig is staged in the beautiful riverside town of Fowey, which was home to Daphne du Maurier and celebrated authors Sir Arthur Quiller-Couch and Kenneth Grahame.
This year’s programme includes an exciting schedule of events including talks and interviews with some of the world’s best-selling authors plus creative and practical workshops, exhibitions, presentations, theatre, musical concerts, art and garden trails, guided walks and river cruises.
There is also a family fun weekend being held at Trenython Manor, encouraging Little GCGers to learn together and be inspired by literature, the arts and nature.
Last year’s festival was a major success and included author and Harper’s Bazaar editor, Justine Picardie, authors Lynda La Plante and Ruth Rendell and a fascinating Question Time session featuring Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan on how to get a book published. The week-long event was concluded with a sold out performance by acclaimed jazz singer Tina May.
This year word on the grape-vine is that the line-up is just as impressive and is a must-visit for all.
