Escapist Luggage: What to Pack for Cornwall

And whilst St Agnes or Sennen aren’t St Tropez one still needs to work one’s beach look. I’m a bikini girl and love Aussie brand Zimmerman. I’ll cover that up with a Lotty B kaftan paired with a panama hat, fluoro-turquoise Ray Ban aviators and Havaiana flip-flops.

When pounding the coastal paths, I’m normally clad in a pair of J-Brand jeans, an American Apparel vest and high tops – if it’s really muddy I’ll wear my Hunter wellies. I always have a waterproof close to hand for those passing showers. We often visit Cornwall off-season so I tend to pack for a colder climate.  I love snuggling up by a log-burning stove wrapped in my toasty Celtic Sheepskin boyfriend jumper (which seems appropriate as it’s a Cornish brand.)

Clothes aren’t the only essentials for our Cornish sojourn. My husband and I love cooking, and sourcing Cornwall’s abundance of wonderful fresh food is always a highlight. So I’ll chuck in a couple of good cookbooks (Nigella, Jamie and Hugh do the trick) alongside a couple of novels – bliss.

Ah what about a proper Newlyn fishing smock – made in Cornwall? Bonus is that they are on trend too – saw people wearing them at fashion week in London!
