FEAST # 10 – des Boules, des Moules et de Fumee
On Wednesday 1st July Nancarrow Farm’s Feast Night is on, somewhat like donkey kong.
Inspired by Steve & Ben’s childhood holidays in northern France, FEAST#10 blends French farmhouse cookery with some of the best Cornish ingredients.
Arrive to a traditional French aperitif, live music and a leisurely game of Boules in the courtyard, followed by the spectacular ‘Eclade de Moules’ – Cornish mussels baked in a bed of burning hay.
In the barn; local continental style cheeses & charcuterie will be served with simple side dishes of kitchen garden salads and masses of sea salty butter on local Da Bara breads.
Nancarrow is famous for its fantastic organic beef and lamb and fittingly FEAST #10 is a celebration of the very first of this year’s fantastic new season lamb – ‘Mechoui De L’agneau’ – whole spit roast lamb served with haricot beans and artichokes forms the main course. French classic – Cherry Clafoutis and home-made truffles round off the feast, accompanied by local folk musicians who play until 11pm.
The crew are anticipating balmy summer evening sunshine, however it may be an idea to pack a pair of wellies so you can explore Nancarrow’s rolling pastures and meet some of the livestock.
