Tregothnan’s Garden Tours 2014
The Tregothnan Estate near Truro, home to the same family since 1335, has the largest historic garden in Cornwall. Translated from Cornish it means 'The House at the Head of the Valley’ and at the beating heart of the estate is the Private Botanic Garden.

Taking the Private Garden Tour
An enthused member of their garden team acts as your guide, discussing the fascinating history of the garden, its impressive plant collections and exciting plans for the future. A special experience for anyone, guests are always spellbound by the scale and diversity of the visit as well as the passion of one family for this incredible living collection.
A new tea garden has been included in the walk – in the magical Himalayan Valley, you’ll now find an authentic ‘piece of Darjeeling.’ Experience Tregothnan’s unequalled diversity of trees, rare collections, sweeping vistas and peaceful secluded groves on the banks of the beautiful river Fal. Get lost in ancient Camellias, mountainous Magnolias and the biggest Rhododendrons in the world.
Spaces limited to a maximum of 20 people per tour on a first-come first-served basis. Ideal for individuals to join a group of 19 other garden lovers on this scheduled tour. Tregothnan’s tours last for approximately 2 hours, concluding with Tregothnan tea and biscuits in the estate cabin.
